The first finish is not really MMA, but features Strikeforce Champion Alistair “The Demolition Man” Overeem (32-11) in the first K-1 event for K-1 in 2010, that aired early this morning on HDNet. In the clip, Alistair uses one of his patented knees-from-clinch to finish his over-matched opponent, Dzevad Poturak. Even the newly-instituted K-1 rule that outlaws two-handed clinching was not enough to stop Overeem who pulled off the move one-handed. Overeem will finally return stateside to defend his heavyweight title on May, 15th at Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery against Fedor Emelianenko‘s most recent victim Brett “The Grim” Rogers (10-1).

The second finish is likely the sickest submission since Toby Imada (23-13)’s inverted-triangle from Bellator 4, which was easily the best submission of 2009. It was pulled off by Shuichiro Katsumura (11-7-3) in a Shooto batamweight title fight on March, 22nd. His opponent, the unsuspecting, longtime champion Masakatsu Udea (10-1-2), was on the receiving end of his first ever loss, and became the first professional mixed martial artist ever to be submitted by what Katsumura is calling a “Ninja Choke.” Eddie Bravo, eat your heart out.
